Here's Damien Marley favorites!

Zema

Solemn
ZEMA

My absurd universe brought me to create this expression. My story and inspiration starts with the oceans and its waterways and my love for bringing characters to life. The vision of a starfish that lives in the ocean depths, which at first glance might seem irrelevant, is both touching and melancholic…in a neglected universe far from the “Blue-Lagoon” imagery we are fed.

It is up to you to find a happy ending to my story!

Wareless Rabbit

Chestermans 20:46
WARLESS RABBIT

While I prefer to focus on the positive outcomes and rewards of us being good environmental stewards, sometimes a wicked image turns on in my mind and I must obey. "Chestermans 20:46" is a surreal and dramatic vision of one of the worlds great beaches on our western raincoast engulfed in an apocalyptic inferno. The millions of living souls who once lived there dying. 20:46 is the year I predict it to happen. BUT I will spend my soul making sure it does NOT.

Wade

Eagles crying out to mankind
WADE STEPHEN BAKER

My inspiration was the film “An Inconvenient Truth”, and it made me think about what we are leaving for our grandchildren. My daughter has also been coming home from her grade 6 class with many of the same topics as the film, and asking me not to idle the car, etc. My wife has become chemically sensitive to off-gassing, and has made us aware of the consequences of our actions.

I chose the eagle as it has great vision. The two chieftain eagles are speaking to each other, wondering what mankind is doing to the atmosphere and oceans with the off-gassing of CO2’s and many other chemicals. They have spoken to each other, and are now reaching out to mankind to save Mother Earth’s environment.

The Abyss
MATTEL

The focus of my creation is on the protection of the oceans. It is a tribute to all unknown wealths held by the ocean, and represented by its imaginary monsters.
I put emphasis on animal diversity and specifically the invertebrates that are hidden within the oceans depths. Preserving natures beauty and source of life in order to one day find its treasures.
Peace to all creatures divine.

Olivier Roy

Polar Melt
OLI ROY

The ground you are standing on is melting into the ocean…when you lean over to look at yourself, your reflection melts away into an abyss of money…then you wake up and drive your SUV to work thinking “good thing it was only a dream!”

Char Hoyt

Bad Bunny caused an erosion
CHAR HOYT

This bad bad bunny is a global hoodlum. Through trickery and misinformation he has tried to suppress the truth about global warming for the last quarter century. These lies have wasted time and caused our species to push our planets ecosystem closer to the point of no return. The eroded shell on the back of the board represents the resilience and strength of the natural world, and my hope that it will be able to withstand our assault upon it.  The new mother nature's takin over.

Together with the Surfrider Foundation and Hilltrip, Canadian artists will put their talents to work on handcrafted surfboards from Montreal-based shaping company Guava. Each board will represent the individuality unique to the surf culture and provide a creative interpretation of what going “green” means to this community.
